Vayakhel “And He Assembled”
Exodus 35:1-38:20
I am amazed as I go through these readings, the detail God gives to the tabernacle among other things. It gives you a perfect picture of exactly how detailed He is. But it only makes sense as we take time in the great outdoors and take in all that He has made and the detail even to the smallest of flowers.
So, we left off last week, with Moses spending time with the Lord and all the people in awe of the “glowing” face of Moses after being in the presence of The Lord.
We start right off with Sabbath regulations and we see God directs the people to “kindle no fire” on the Sabbath. God also directs the people to be obedient in giving for the tabernacle. He specifically wants the people to give with a generous heart. Like today, it takes the generosity of those that are obedient in giving monetarily to their church building; their time, their talents are also equally important. Not everyone is skilled to carve furniture and utensils out of a hunk of wood. We each have our own special gifts that help to contribute to the upkeep of our own churches. I fully believe, when we use those gifts to glorify God, He will bless us! Sometimes in ways, we cannot even imagine. Our obedience is extremely important to Him. In last week, we read about God sending the spirit into some of the people to be the craftsmen in building things for the tabernacle. There are two names that are mentioned Bezalel and Oholiab that God has also put the spirit in to come forward with anyone else that God chose to come and work. The beautiful curtains that were sewn together, with beautiful Cherubim sewn onto the tapestry.
We see things like the ark, the making of the lamp stand, making the alter of incense, making the alter of burnt offerings, the bronze basin and the making of the court. Wow! This was a lot of work! The people were so obedient in their giving, Moses actually had to tell them to hold off on bringing any more goods for the tabernacle.
It amazes me to read how beautifully detailed our Heavenly Father is!
Thank you so much for reading my blog. I pray this blesses you and encourages you. Have a blessed day!
Blessings!
